How to reach Recent Files list with a click from anywhere
Through Customization, you can add the Recent File list to the Document Desktop Context menu so you can reach it with a right-click on empty space on your drawing:
A. Open the Context Menu
- Click Tools > Options > Workspace > Customization
- Click Command Bars, and check on the Context Menu
Now you have the Context Menu open with its 3 sections; Workspace, Tools and Selection. You just need to drag the Recent Files command to the Document Desktop Context Menu (under Workspace section).
B. Add the Recent Files List
- Click Commands under Customizations
- Under File, look for Recent Files command
- Drag it and hover over the Workspace section (to open its menu) then over Document Desktop and drop it at the bottom of its menu

Notes
- Now since you knew how to add the Recent Files to a Context menu, concider adding it to another Bars or Menus, or adding another commands to the appropriate menu of the tens of Context Menus.
- To add a separator before the Recent Files list, as you dragged the Recent Files command from the File category, drag a Separator from the User Menus category and drop it before the Recent Files list.
